Who are you?
I am Monray Schoeman, I was born in Johannesburg and I was fortunate enough to attend St Andrew’s School for boys in Bloemfontein. I am an avid sport lover, superhero geek and family man married to Rachel and have two boys, four-year old Eli and two-year old Ethan.
What is your background in Mining?
I worked for an engineering supply company for two years supplying various engineering supplies to mines locally and within Africa. I then worked as a key account manager for thirteen years. I joined the MICROMINE team where I have been working for the last two and a half years. MICROMINE have given me the opportunity to do what I love everyday; work with people and be a part of their solution.
Why do you love using MICROMINE’s products?
I believe MICROMINE has well-rounded products that speak to the entire mining process and they are really easy to use. The fact that I was able to take myself through the Introduction manual and complete the course speaks for itself, which I have used when speaking to prospective clients. The flexibility of Geobank and its competitive price in the market also stands this product in good stead. The marketing and future development of both Micromine and Geobank going forward is key to their success, with the team’s current structure I believe we are moving in the right direction. The technical staff often go out of their way to assist the sales team to understand the products for better client service.
Why do you love working at MICROMINE?
MICROMINE is a great company to work for. The environment leans toward a family environment, which is comfortable yet structured. Everybody is extremely helpful, and there is never a dull moment in the office. We work hard and play hard; the office is never short of banter. I am challenged to expand my knowledge base, learn new things, and I can interact with people from different walks of life daily.
How does your role at MICROMINE Africa add value?
The experience I have gained over the last thirteen years in various industries has been invaluable, it is has given me the ability to talk to people and interact on a level that makes clients feel comfortable with me and our product offering. I build trust and respect with people and advise them of solution that suits their needs. Being able to offer a superior product with good support and future development plans assists me in giving a high level of service to my clients. A high level of service has always translated into high results.
